AMERICAN REVOLUTION/VOCABULARY
1. grievance-a real or imagined wrong or other cause for complaint or protest
2. coerce-persuade an unwilling person by using force or threats
3. militia-a military force that is raised form the civil population to help regular
army in an emergency
4. commissary-a restaurant in a movie studio, military base, prison, or other institution
5. petition-an official written request, typically signed by many, appealing to authority with a given case.
6. preamble-an introduction
7. ciphering-a secret, or disguised way of writing...a code.
8. enlist-enroll or be enrolled in the armed services
9. mercenary- a professional soldier hired to serve in a foreign army.
10. campaign- a series of military operations intended to achieve a particular objective
